Dress
Up and Make Believe
Saturday
Mornings 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
NEW Wednesday class 3:30-4:30 P.M.
Ages 4-6 yrs. old
Devoted
to our youngest actors, this beginning acting class encourages children
to explore their creativity in the world of Make-Believe. Emphasis is
placed on the child's imagination as the key to acting Learning to accomplish
a specific goal, as well as creating zany characters from their imagination
will be incorporated in this beginning improv work. Costumes, masks make-up,
and theater games add to the fun and serve as a wonderful way to introduce
young children to the world of theater.
Imagination
Workshop
Saturday
Mornings 11:30 - 1 P.M.
Ages 7-9 yrs. old
This
class is geared for the young actor and is centered around improvisation.
Students will be encouraged to create "fun" characters from
their imaginations using costumes and props. Open ended improvisational
scenes, acting exercises and theater games will focus on, playing the
actor's objective, expressing emotion and solving conflicts. Beginning
scene work, monologues and plays written for children will be presented
at the end of each semester for family and friends.
Young
Actor's Workshop
Saturday
Afternoons 1:30 - 3 P.M.
Ages 10-12 yrs. old
This
class will reinforce the basic principles of acting: Intention, Characterization,
and Emotional Preparation. Students will continue to develop their acting
skills through improvisation, advanced acting exercises, theater games
and scripted material. The young actors will be encouraged "to be
in the moment" as they experience the "rehearsal process"
and prepare scenes and short plays for performance.
Semi Private Scene Study
Tues. Eves 6-7:15 P.M.
Ages 11-16 yrs old
This class for 6-8 students is dedicated to the more serious student interested in concentrating on specific acting technique. The workshop will include advanced acting exercises, improv, scenes and monologues.
